Hello, this is Ticketmaster Customer Service with an important alert for your upcoming event. ANIMAL COLLECTIVE scheduled at THE MUSIC BOX @ THE FONDA on FRIDAY, JANUARY 23, 2009, at 8:00 PM, has been postponed. Original tickets will be honored once the new date is announced.

and I wept….. I might be going to try and scalp some tickets tomorrow night at the Troubadour show…

Sweet Jesus! Panda Bear and the gang will be playing within the sweet confines of the HF Theatre. I realize that many within the truegazer club see Animal collective as a bit too experimental but trust me they throw it down when they are on stage. I caught them about a year and a half ago when I unknowingly bought backstage passes from a scalper. The funny part of the story is when I told panda bear that it was such a  coincidence that we were both from Texas…he then looked at me and said “dude I am from Baltimore”. MY BAD. I mean who would really rather be from Baltimore than from Texas.

Anyway, I only got four tickets because its a pricey event and I am not sure on people’s interest. Ticket are $40 a piece after TM rapage.

Lets all just take a moment to be grateful this show is not at the Echoplex. But as Bruce put it, “This is a pretty big venue for a band that has not put out an album in the past three years.” But for whatever reason, Autolux has been called up to the big leagues again to pinch hit during this struggling economy. Let me tell you one company to invest in right now… Ticketmaster. They charged $11 over the face value to provide basically no extra service whatsoever. Additionally they cap it at 6 tickets again so someone is going to need to step up and buy some more…. (*cough Stallion, ALHP, or Chabs.)

This band is fanstatic and should be seen live….. blah blah blah typical AKAK selling points. But seriously if you don’t own the Future Perfect album it really is a great album from genesis to fin.
