Modest Mouse, in Austin….

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

I just found out today that modest mouse will be in Austin, TX, March 4th. While, I am not as excited about Modest Mouses’ current music being made today, I am still really excited about being able to see them live for the first time. Its crazy but, I remember being in 8th grade, and my brother, who is “Capt.” of this website, coming home for the first time from California. He came bearing gifts. Gifts of Music. But not just any music; music capable of changing your entire perspective on, well everything. And I was only 14 at the time! Haha. Although, I may not of fully appreciated it at the time, I was beginning my journey into the hidden realm of good music. It would have to be, Modest Mouse’s, The Lonesome Crowded West that truely made me want to find more music like THIS! From there, it was easy. Through the process of association, I was able to find so many more band who played with the same kind of passion, emotion, and energy. And because nothing good can really last forever, I will still go see my man, Isaac Brock, in person, and go fuckin’ wild if they decide to play any of their old stuff. Thanks Bro:0

Akron Family Free Bootleg Download

Sunday, November 2nd, 2008

Lately, I am working hard at my “real job” responsibilities, but I promise to have the site reorganized and reviews of Warpaint and Asobi Seksu up on the site by next week.

So for now, you should download this Akron Family bootleg: Capt. AKAK hearts AK bootlegs. Particularly the first session which is 15 minutes of bliss. It is a mystery as to whether or not these songs will appear on their new album which is currently being recorded. But everyone who saw them play on my birthday should remember these tunes. I am currently listening to it while writing this post and lets just say that the energy that my fingers are relying on to move is not coming from within me, but from the song.

Here is a video of the second bootleg….also recorded the same week in Austin, Tx.
