Didn’t think so, but I still felt compelled to share this gem. Jarboe:

In the late 80′s/90′s Jarboe worked side by side with Gira (yes, mr. Angels of Light himself) in the punk-ish band Swans.

Over the past decade she has gone solo singer/songwriter status, producing numerous goth and heavily heavily experimental albums. Her collaboration record is huge, ranging from the dark metal band Neurosis to working with Maynard on APC projects and Puscifer stuff. In all honesty, what sucked me into this woman was getting completely tranced out and freaked out by this video. I know this music doesn’t necessarily appeal to the readers of this site, but this woman has such a huge career across the musical board that I feel like something is there. She is slightly too experimental and dark for me me, but I continue to listen to the album she did with Neurosis, and will probably purchase more of her vast library simply because it feels good to stretch my musical ear in ways I’m not used to.

Anyways, read up more on her if interested, but in the least, enjoy this song/video.

I realize that we have been attending many shows over the past few weeks. Some of which were taken on blind faith that the band we were going to see would be good. Well I am not sure how familiar some of you are with Angels of Light/Michael Gira but he is a bonfide hero to me. He was originally in the Swans but had a spiritual experience once that told him folk was the purest form of music. I must say I agree with him (for now). He is the owner of YoungGodRecords which has produced Akron Family, Devendra Banhart, Fire on Fire and more recently Larkin Grimm and James Blackshaw.  His music is dark and poetic, containing more depth and weight than most. If you have not heard him, download my top ten esoteric track listing Here; I placed him as #1.

I bought 6 tickets @ $14 a piece. Ebee is going to be out of town so I hope we can somehow find enough people to go. FYI Larkin Grimm is opening for him which should be interesting.
