“New” song from 1997 WMUC session unearthed; read more about it at the Washington Post

Nothing much to say…this is just a cool song:

I just got the new Hush Arbors Cd in the mail today after getting back from lunch. Please join me in the discovery of his new cd with a video from their blog.

Recently bought a Los Halos album titled “For Ramona”. Only listened to it once so far but initial take is a 7ish. The song “dagger bones” is particularly great and I wanted to share it with you below…unfortunately there is no video of it so we shall all settle for this.

This band is fucking amazing…sorry to speak in superlatives but it’s true. The song right after the interview is like a catharsis…joy. I’ve been dancing around my house all night.

They’re going to be playing a free show at the Hammer Museum on July 23rd (the Hammer has rad programs on a weekly basis which I go to occasionally; if anyone is interested go to their website or get in touch with me) but I’m sure they’ll have a show before then which I’ll post up here.

Bobby – Want to try to get these guys to open for Sean Hayes??!?!?! Let’s do it, “aim high” I always say.

I heard that Malkmus covered Bob Dylan’s “Ballad of a Thin Man” so I looked it up on youtube. This is a masterful rendition of the original. My respect for Stephen Malkmus seriously grows everytime I listen to him, and especially to hear him play and preform like this, ranks him as one of the best musicians…

I am not sure how I am going to handle all the media I got from Coachella this year. But I figured I would give a gift to OceanRain who is a big fan of SuperChunk. I am not sure of the song title but I love the guitar harmony in the middle of it. The second guitarist ripped the whole time with new strings that he said were cheaper than normal and “felt/played like spaghetti”….sounded f-king great to me but what do I know?

If you’ve never heard of him, go buy “Rise Up”.  If you haven’t seen him live, make it a priority.  He’s a Chicago legend and when on, he’s one of the best acts out there.
