On Tour:Black Moth Super Rainbow @ the Detroit Bar – May 30th

Electronic Psychedelia combines two very elements of genres that have nourished my musical soul for that past 10 years. While I currently listen to much less electronic/ambient music in the present years, it is always nice to have a vintage night with friends at a “local” venue. Saturday, May 30th should provide the crew with a night of magic and wonderment; I picture MRoyed appearing much like he did here.
Personally, I an really only a fan of Black Moth’s album Dandelion Gum and their blended album with Austin greats The Octopus Project which were both releases many moons ago. This show will also feature relatively new entrants to the subculta rock world The School of Seven Bells.
Net Net it is a Saturday Night and $15 dollars. I am thinking we buy tickets at the door.
Enjoy one of my favorite songs from their early album.

BMSR’s new record is fair, imo–kinda psychedelic Stereolab, a bit too loungy to love. School of Seven Bells is dude from Secret Machines and their debut record is really good–nothing like SM, mind; more like Cocteau Twins…but from what I hear, their (duo) live show is a tad dull.
Still, I dropped $10.50 to see Obsesssion the other night–maybe the worst movie ever…so, y’know, $15 sounds like a bargain.

I could have told you Obsession was going to be a waste of a single mental thought process (let alone ten bucks) just from seeing the advertisement plastered on the side of a bus speeding through downtown long beach.
bruce i miss you at shows.

Re Obsession. Truth be told, paid for another movie that got fulled-up and went into Obsession cos it was starting at the same time. There was a chance Beyonce would get naked, doncha know. But after 5 minutes I stopped caring about naked Beyonces and just wanted to kill myself.

If you want to see nudity go see Sasha Grey in The Girlfriend Experience.
I like School of Seven Bells new album a lot.
I bought it randomly because I liked the album cover’s artwork…i’d never heard of the band.
I’ll probably be at this show.
