Tricky from Massive Attack at House of Blues Anahiem
A close friend of the TSS community has generously donated ten free tickets for us to see Tricky perform on Tuesday in Anahiem. I have not heard Tricky’s solo work but Massive Attack’s album Mezzanine is definitely above average. Let me know if you would like a ticket. It is the best price out there…free. Show starts at 8.

Oh my oh my Capt., when you had mentioned this to me last night I did not know you were talking about Tricky…(Massive Attack has had like 39.7 members)…! HELL. YES. I am excited about this. This guy pumps out some GREAT music.
I have no idea how he is live, and never actually thought I’d ever see his live, so I am pretty stoked about this.
Also, it looks like DJ Darren Revell is going to be there too, he’s the guy who did the Shoegazer/Dreampop program on Indie 103.1

“I know tricky very well, going back to his Massive days. I’ve seen him a handful of times as well. Some good – some downright awful.
His recent Knowles tour shows have also been very hit or miss… it all depends how much weed he smokes. Too much for him is a bad thing, although he thinks differently. His setlists are always improved from a group of tunes he picks out right before the show, he says he gets a vibe and decides what to play as the show goes on, he’ll play 90% of a printed setlist.”
Something I read about his current tour. I really don’t know what to expect out of his show, I would post a bunch of suggestion as to what to listen to if you want to check him out before we see him tonight, but he has so much music and it is all so very diverse. So I’ll just list some of my personal stand-out songs of his
You Don’t Wanna
Excess
Girls
Your Name
Puppy Toy
Overcome (which is actually a Massive Attack cover, Karma Coma)
Black Steel (great song)
Hell is Around the Corner
Aftermath
You Don’t
Black Coffee (pretty much the song that turned me on to him)
Christiansands (great song)
Tricky Kid
Makes Me Wanna Die
Scrappy Love
Hell is Around the Corner
Hollow (amazing amazing beautiful song, listen to this one.please.)
How High
Anyways. See ya tonight.

Yeah Capt. you didn’t mention “Tricky” to me either. I’ve seen him 3 times, 2 were great, one he was way strung out. Very, very sexual, be careful who you sit next to on the ride home ALHP.
