I used to be really into these guys, until I saw them live. They played after a 60 minute epic live Paul van Dyke dance session. There wasn’t a single still body amongst thousand of sweating bodies during PVD. And then Ratatat came on. Among that massive crowd there was hardly ANYONE moving. Straight up, it was a boring show. I kept moving through the crowd trying to find a random pod of people rocking out to these guys, but no one was, for obvious reasons.
Ever since then I can’t help but feel like every track off of “Classics” is a rehash of the previous track and following track, and it just leaves a bad taste in my ears. Sorry Ratatat.
I will admit that their new album “LP3″ has a more diverse track listing……but still.
