Because the Coachella ’09 lineup is up! Everyday for the past two weeks the Refresh button was getting hammered upon on the coachella website. Check this shit out. MSTRKRFT, Crystal Castles, My Bloody Valentine, Blitzen Trapper, Theivery Corporation, Perry Farrell, Ting Tings, Drop the Lime, FUCKING CRYSTLAL METHOD, Beirut. I can go on and on and on and on so just read for yourselves.
Oh. And I already got a room out there. So far it is just looking like the capt. and I. It is but a stones throw away from Coachella Valley, and somewhere between $50 and $75 per person total (for all three nights). I don’t care how many we cram into that room, but naturally space is limited, so do let me know if you are interested in staying with us. (I know there is a concert section but this is front page shit right here)

Also, being that big names like The Cure, Paul McCartney, and Morrissey are playing, I would highly suggest you buy tickets soon. Neat, looks like we got us some amy winehouse for the weekend too. I nominate polik on that 12th step.

The girl who sometimes shows up to work is dating the Coachella dude and she promised to give me the scoop. Bitch.
Ordinarily I have a rule against festivals. Y’know, cos there’s a lot of smelly hippies that hang out at festivals. But I could be persuaded. APTBS, Beirut, Leonard Cohen, Los Camps!, SSPU, The Black Keys, Hold Steady…all in one day!? Gang Gang Dance, Superchunk, TVOTR…Fucked Up, MBV, Okkervil River, Friendly Fires, Vivian Girls, X, YYY’s. Whoa. Pretty substantial stuff.
But it’s dusty and hot. And all those smelly hippies. Hmm.

There is a lot of talk that some last minute artists will be thrown in the mix.
But dusty? yeah. Hippies? yeah. Pretty substantial stuff? Yes.
XM has been playing a LOT of Beirut lately, and also replaying a live xm session of Blitzen Trapper frequently. It is going to be just GRAND to see them with a bunch of dust covered hippies. Oh Baby.

I share Bruce’s reluctance for similar reasons, including the no Pavement. Even a terrific kiss prolonged too long becomes messy, raw, and starts to hurt your neck. Maybe a strategically targetted afternoon/evening for me.
